The National Secretary of Nigeria Prays, Rev Austin Kemie, has called on Nigerians to pray constantly for the Nation as we move towards another election year.
He stated this while speaking to our correspondent on friday, during a strategic meeting of intercessors on the state of the nation in Abuja.
According to Kemie, Intercessors are expected to flood the nation with prayers which is vital for a smooth and peaceful election, adding that the group had made it a responsibility to come together to pray for the nation and its leaders.
He noted that the resident peace the nation was enjoying can be attributed to frequent fervent prayers made on behalf of the nation which according to him must be maintained.
He said that even in the bible days, fervent prayers was made for Jerusalem and it should be replicated even in our times as the bible says pray for Jerusalem.
Kemie who decried the silent treatment some religious denominations meet out to others stating that in the body of Christ there must be unity because unity in the sprit moves mountains.
“I am a bit worried by the attitude of some of our church leaders and members towards others of different denominations, in the bible days there was no Mountain of fire, no Redeemed, all we had was brethren who fellowshipped together. I think it is high time we all come together as a body of Christ to seek the face of the lord on the state of our nation.
When we return to our maker, I do not think he will judge us based on our denominations, which church we worship with, or weather we are catholics. I believe it will be a case of how well did you live a Christ like life, worthy of the kingdom.
The elections are close and we are already seeing the signs within our political parties, we should not leave the country to the politicians alone, we equally have a lot of work to do and that can be done through our prayers, we should shape the political air space with prayers which will be best achieved in unity in the spirit” he said.
He however encouraged all well meaning Nigerians of all faiths to priorities prayers for the nation because the peace of the nation will eventually lead to peace in our homes.
Kemie said we want investors to come to our country, they would not do that if the nation is not peaceful, the peace of the nation will lead to peace in our homes and general development.
He added that there would be a Battle cry conference coming up in Abuja later in the year, which would equally attract local and international intercessors.
The meeting was however attended by intercessors from all over the country with Rev David Amosu USA, who gave a word of exhortation.
