2019 Elections: We Must Not Return the Country’s Governance to Thieves, We Must Continue to Challenge Corruption – APC

Published

on

In a preparations for the up coming general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised Nigerians not go back to the old days of impunity and corruption under the watch of the opposition party. This was made known in statement signed by its National publicity secretary, Mr Yekini Nabena on Sunday.

Mr Nabena said under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, the scale of recoveries from corrupt elements in the past three years by the country’s anti-graft agencies is testament that the administration’s extensive anticorruption drive is yielding results.

The spokesman said that Compared to the past, successful prosecution of many corrupt persons, the hugely-successful whistle-blowing policy and voluntary return of corruptly-acquired funds and assets has shown that it is no longer business as usual and corruption is increasingly becoming unacceptable.

He noted that Corruption can no longer define how we do things as a country. There is a new realization among well-meaning Nigerians that if we don’t kill corruption it will kill us.
The statement read further thus;

Recently, the media space has been awash with a campaign of calumny against the anticorruption efforts by the same opposition partisans and their proxies that ruined the country with their institutionalized corruption. This is expected as corruption will naturally fight back.

Ahead of 2019

Sadly, these thieves have resurfaced to canvass votes of Nigerians for various elective positions, ostensibly to resume their stealing. Nigerians are neither gullible nor stupid. They have not forgotten the yoke they bore under the corrupt Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regimes and deserve no more of it.

Public funds that could have improved the education, healthcare sectors and provided infrastructure to develop the economic and social life of Nigerians are sadly in the pockets of these thieves.

While we alert Nigerians to the plot of some politicians to buy votes and deploy other illegal means to subvert the people’s will during coming elections, we urge relevant agencies to be proactively involved in tracking of election financing. The same people who criminally-diverted public monies to fund their political activities as brazenly displayed during past administrations, must be prevented from doing same in coming elections.

To conclude, we share the submission of a former United States Vice President, Joe Biden: “Corruption is a cancer; a cancer that eats away at a citizen’s faith in democracy, diminishes the instinct for innovation and creativity… it wastes the talent of entire generations. It scares away investments and jobs”.

We must continue to challenge corruption and its related vices. This is line with the Change Agenda the APC promised Nigerians. This is a promise we are committed to keep.

Atiku’s America visit: Check your BP, Frank urges Buhari, APC leaders, supporters

Published

To avoid unforseen circumstances, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the leaders of the ruling party, including President Muhammadu Buhari and its supporters to ensure a check of their Blood Pressures over Thursday’s visit to America by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Frank said the advice becomes necessary because the former Vice President was demonized through some propagandists in the ruling party that Alhaji Atiku will be arrested in United State of America anytime he visits the country, adding that the recent development has proven otherwise.

Reacting in a statement Frank signed on Friday, he said Atiku’s Thursday’s visit to America and his acceptance by the US government has shown the world, especially Nigerian voters that all campaign of colony against the Waziri Adamawa were just propaganda to demonise him, which Nigerians should disregard.

According to Frank, going to America wouldn’t have being an issue if not for the challenge APC threw at Atiku and to prove to the world that he (Atiku) has never been indicted of corruption allegation anywhere in the world.

Frank said Thursday’s night must have been a sleepless one for some leaders of APC who had lied to their supporters about Atiku.

“APC made it a campaign issue that Atiku can never step on American soil without being arrested. In fact, I have read so many APC supporters who vowed to vote for Atiku if he does. Now, I believe they can now deal with it.

“Obviously stunned by the reality, I advice those of you still in APC or supporting President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid to have a change of mind now by joining the moving trains because the development has nailed the coffin of the APC’s propaganda.”

While thanking the American government for its fairness and refusal to succumb to blackmails by the APC apologists, Frank said that Atiku’s visit to America is about economy development of Nigeria, creating conducive businesses environment and create massives jobs for Nigerians.

He added that Atiku Abubakar’s presidency will strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and the United State of America if elected.

“Recall a statement credited to the Minister of Information and Culture, calling of the US not to give Atiku a Visa to the country. Lai Mohammed also stated that if Atiku is given a visa it will amount to an endorsement by the US government.

“The Minister should now know as predicted by him that by the special grace of God America will endorse Waziri Adamawa because he is a better candidate than President Muhammadu Buhari.”

It was mild drama as the ruling All Progressive Congress( APC)caught in another plagiarism controversy mess as it was accused of plagiarism in its manifesto that was themed “keeping America safe and secure” . It was a featured on its website in a section which was dedicated to energy policy ahead of a general election slated for February.

It was speculated with the title , “Our first priority is keeping America safe and secure”, and featured rambling copy critics said was likely lifted from other websites.

It is no longer news that the Ruling party ,headed by president Muhammadu Buhari was accused in the past of plagiarism, notably the president swearing in speech in 2015.

The former aide for ex-Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, who in the past has been one of the famous critics accused the APC of “obviously” lifting the language “from Donald Trump”, though it is not clear when or even if the US president ever used the wording.

Refuting the allegation, was the APC spokesperson, Lanre Issa-Onilu, who blamed it on hackers and mischief makers and stated on Twitter that the website had been “hacked” and “unauthorised content” posted on it, adding that the party won’t allow the desperate people to succeed in their evil plots.

It was gathered that the content was quickly change and replaced with new innovation and inscriptions.

Nigerian could still recalled that ,it is not the first time the APC has been accused of plagiarism where in 2016, president Buhari was forced to apologise after it was revealed that a number of contents in a speech launching his presidential campaign had been lifted from the then American president , Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential victory speech.
